Nick Foles rumors: Eagles not expected to trade QB, according to report

Unless an offer blows the Eagles away, Nick Foles will be back in Philadelphia for his sophomore season.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are unlikely to trade second-year quarterback Nick Foles, according to CSN Philly.

Rumors have swirled that the Kansas City Chiefs and new coach Andy Reid would like to acquire Foles, Reid's third-round draft pick with the Eagles in 2012. But that doesn't appear likely right now -- unless the right deal comes along:

... league sources have told CSNPhilly.com’s Reuben Frank that the Eagles have no plans to trade Foles, unless they’re blown away by an offer.

Foles has been the subject of trade rumors because he’s not the ideal quarterback for the system Chip Kelly ran at Oregon. However, Kelly has already said he adapts his offensive system to his personnel. He also said there will be a quarterback competition when camp starts.

Foles played three seasons at Arizona after transferring from Michigan State following his freshman year in 2007. In his senior season, Foles built his NFL Draft stock by completing 69 percent of his passes for 4,334 yards and 28 touchdowns.

As a rookie last season, Foles earned six starts after Michael Vick went down with an injury. Foles was 1-5 in those games, completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 1,699 yards. He threw six touchdowns and five interceptions.
