Titus Young released by Rams

For the second time in a month, Titus Young has been released.

The St. Louis Rams released wide receiver Titus Young on Feb. 15, head coach Jeff Fisher announced. At Friday's press conference, Fisher said:

“We spent probably four or five days with him. At the end of the interview process, we decided it was best for us to go another direction.”

The move was originally reported by The Shadow League. It was a short tenure for Young and the Rams, as the Detroit Lions released the young wide receiver on Feb. 4.

Young had his fair share of problems in Detroit, but no one knows what prompted him being cut in St. Louis. Ryan Van Bibber at Turf Show Times says most likely Young’s attitude prompted his latest release:

The easy speculation is that his attitude must of interfered with his second chance in St. Louis. Given his past, that is not particularly far fetched. However, he could have also failed the physical. Hell, the Rams may have seen the light on a deal with Danny Amendola and/or Brandon Gibson that made any potential headache with Young unnecessary, but that last option is unlikely.

When he was a Lion, Young punched a teammate and allegedly lined up incorrectly on purpose during a game. He was sent home for the final six games of the 2012 regular season. Young was reportedly upset because he didn’t get the ball enough.

Young was a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft after a college career at Boise State. As a rookie, Young caught 48 passes for 607 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games. In 10 games as a sophomore, Young caught 33 passes for 383 yards and four touchdowns.
