NFL rumors: Dolphins set sights on Mike Wallace as top free agent
Miami will acquire a talented wide receiver this offseason. Could Mike Wallace be the one heading south?

The Sun-Sentinel’s Omar Kelly writes that the Dolphins are willing to spend to get their playmaker and they could be setting their sights on the dangerous Wallace:
Multiple sources tell the Sun-Sentinel Steelers receiver Mike Wallace, who won't be given the franchise tag by the Steelers this offseason, is the team's top target.

There are fewer than a dozen NFL receivers who can do what Wallace does, forcing defenses to adjust to him, putting a safety over the top of where he lines up. Few receivers have both the sub 4.4 speed needed to provide deep ball plays, and the athleticism required to produce yards after the catch.
Wallace does it all, and is the only free agent who fulfills Ross' mandate for 2013, which is "we have to be more explosive."
Wallace, 26, has been a consistent threat since entering the league in 2009. In his four seasons, Wallace has caught 235 passes for 4,042 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Wallace is one of the best deep threats in the league. He led the NFL as a rookie with 19.4 yards per reception. In his second season, he had 21 yards per reception after catching 60 passes for 1,257 yards.
When it comes down to it, the Dolphins will acquire a wide receiver to help Tannehill grow. The only question is: Who will it be?
Another logical name is Green Bay Packers free agent Greg Jennings. Jennings isn't as explosive as Wallace, but he would be reunited with his former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, who is the Dolphins' head coach. In this scenario, it would be easier for Philbin to acquire Jennings considering he knows what he's getting.
