Two old friends could once again be reunited. According to NBC Pro Football Talk, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is already recruiting free agent defensive end Dwight Freeney.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is recruiting his old friend Dwight Freeney to come join him in Denver.

Manning and Freeney have plenty of history together. The pair of former Indianapolis Colts stars went to two Super Bowls together, winning Super Bowl XLI, but losing Super Bowl XLIV.
Indianapolis decided to let Freeney walk in free agency rather than re-sign him. The Connecticut-native had one of the worst years of his career in 2012, recording just 12 tackles and registering five sacks in 14 games. Freeney’s five sacks are the second-lowest total of his career, only better than his 2007 total of 3.5 -- though Freeney only appeared in nine games that season.
Despite Manning’s wishes, Freeney isn’t so sure that there’s a place for him in Denver.
"I think they've got a couple good pass rushers over there, I don't know if they have room for me," Freeney said.
With pass-rushers not exactly a pressing need in Denver, it seems unlikely that the Broncos are a legitimate landing spot for Freeney. Still, Denver can’t be totally discounted because of the Manning factor.
Manning isn't the only player courting Freeney's services. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White tweeted that he would "love" to see Freeney on the Falcons in 2013. Atlanta seems like a much better fit than Denver, as the Falcons lack a pass rusher opposite John Abraham.
