Dolphins unlikely to re-sign Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush’s time in Miami looks to be over, as he and the team seem to disagree about how much his services are worth.

USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins appear to be done with Reggie Bush, reports NFL.com. The team reportedly made an offer to the veteran running back, but it wasn't in the $7-8 million range Bush is seeking.

Bush has been with the Dolphins for only two years and has lead the team in rushing in both of those years. He ran for 1,086 yards his first year with the team and came within 14 yards of a second 1,000-yard season in 2012.

If Bush does indeed sign with another team, second-year running back Lamar Miller would likely move up the depth chart. Miller had 51 rushing attempts in his rookie year for a total of 250 yards.

2013 will be Bush's eighth year in the league, though he has only played all 16 games of a season twice. Injuries limited him to eight games in 2010, leading to his exit from the New Orleans Saints, and he was frequently less than 100 percent for Miami. It's certain that there will be teams interested in Bush, but the question of value is rarely an easy one for a veteran player.
