Free agent wide receiver Steve Breaston will visit the Cleveland Browns this week, according to Mary Kat Cabot. Breaston was recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs, just two years into a five-year contract Breaston signed in 2011.
Steve Breaston to visit Cleveland Browns
Free agent wide receiver Steve Breaston is set to visit with the Cleveland Browns this week, after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Breaston started only four games for Kansas City in 2012, and was inexplicably left inactive toward the end of the season, despite being healthy. Breaston finished the season with a career-low seven receptions for 74 yards.

Clearly needing a fresh start elsewhere, the Chiefs released Breaston, making him a free agent and eligible to sign with any team at any time. Breaston proved to be a capable receiver between 2008-2011, and entering his age-30 season, should have at least a few productive years left in him.
Breaston's career-season was in 2008, when he caught 77 passes for 1,006 yards and three touchdowns with the Arizona Cardinals. Todd Haley was Arizona's offensive coordinator that season -- a position Haley currently holds in Pittsburgh. Breaston, who grew up outside of Pittsburgh, recently expressed interest in teaming up with Haley again -- but with Pittsburgh's current cap troubles, such a reunion could prove to be difficult.
