New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski underwent surgery on the same forearm he broke against the Houston Texans in the Divisional round of the AFC playoffs, according to ESPN. Gronkowki's latest surgery stems from an infection in his forearm.

The latest surgery marks Gronkowski's third since November, and fourth in the last year. Gronkowski underwent ankle surgery following Super Bowl XLVI -- an injury Gronkowski suffered in the AFC Championship game. In November, Gronkowski underwent surgery to fix his broken forearm, and missed five games. Gronkowski then broke the same forearm against the Texans in January, and underwent surgery shortly after.
Gronkowski was supposed to serve as the red carpet correspondent for the Oscars on Sunday night, but was replaced by Ed Reed without explanation. Gronkowski's latest surgery likely kept the Pro Bowl tight end from working the red carpet.
It’s unknown how long Gronkowski’s latest surgery will keep him sidelined for, but Adam Schefter tweeted that Gronkowski is still expected to be ready for training camp.
New England’s valuable tight end caught 55 passes for 790 yards and 11 touchdowns in just 11 games for the Patriots in 2012.
