Ramses Barden says ‘probably best’ to move on from Giants

New York Giants wide receiver Ramses Barden believes it is time for him to move to a new team after four years and limited opportunities with the Giants.

After four years with the New York Giants, wide receiver Ramses Barden said "it's probably best" for him to look for a new team in a radio interview on SiriusXM Blitz according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. Barden will become an unrestricted free agent on March 12 after four years with the Giants.

Barden, a third-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, has shown flashes of brilliance over his career, but never been able to stick in the Giants receiver rotation. He was limited to 29 receptions, with 14 of them coming in the 2012 season.

“I had a great experience with the Giants, and had I had more opportunities to seize, I would’ve seized them. And I’m confident in that,” Barden said.

Given a share of the spotlight in a September game against the Panthers this offseason, Barden caught nine passes for 138 yards with Hakeem Nicks and Domenik Hixon out due to injuries. But following that game Barden fell back down the depth chart and only caught four more passes during the season.
