The New Orleans Saints hiring Rob Ryan to be their defensive coordinator is "basically a done deal," according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Saints, Rob Ryan is ‘basically a done deal’, according to report
The former Cowboys defensive coordinator has finally latched on to a new team.

The rumors have been floating for days that the Saints were planning on bringing in Ryan. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported around 9 p.m. ET Tuesday that the Saints planned to hire the former defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.
Just last night, Saints officials said a hire hadn’t been made.
Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator Todd Grantham was also in the running for the Saints’ defensive coordinator job.
Ryan was available to the Saints after the Cowboys fired him in early January. Ryan, the brother of New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan, was reportedly very close to joining the St. Louis Rams, but that fell through at the last minute. The Rams said Ryan was "not the right fit for the DC position."
Before Ryan was the defensive coordinator with the Cowboys for two seasons, he was the defensive coordinator in Cleveland and Oakland for a combined six seasons. He’s been a coach in both the NFL and college ranks since 1987, when he was an assistant at Western Kentucky.
