Arrelious Benn trade rumors: Bucs shopping former 2nd round pick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly shopping wide receiver Arrelious Benn, just three years after selecting the 6’2 receiver with the No. 39 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

LeGarrette Blount isn't the only member of Tampa Bay's offense on the trade block. Former second-round draft pick Arrelious Benn is being shopped by the Buccaneers as well, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

Benn has been nothing shy of a disappointment for the Buccaneers since being selected with the No. 39 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Through his first three seasons, Benn has just 59 receptions for 862 yards and five touchdowns. 2012 was especially tough for Benn, as the receiver sprained his MCL early in training camp, and eventually landed on injured reserve in November. Benn finished the season with just four receptions for 26 yards.

Though Benn has disappointed thus far, he could be attractive to wide receiver needy teams willing to gamble a late-round draft choice. Tampa Bay’s price on Benn shouldn’t be high, and the receiver is set to earn just $630,000 as a base salary in 2013. At 6’2, Benn possesses good size for a wide receiver, and is just three years removed from being a second-round draft pick.
