Todd McClure will retire from Falcons, according to report
After 14 seasons, Todd McClure is expected to announce his retirement on Thursday.

Originally a seventh-round draft pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, McClure will announce his retirement at a press conference on Thursday. He started 195 games during his career, playing through four coaching changes. After missing his rookie season due to a knee injury, McClure played his way into the starting role during his second season. He holds the Falcons team record for consecutive starts with 148.
The 36-year-old McClure would have been an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but will instead file his retirement papers with the league. Some speculated McClure would retire following the 2011 season, but he signed a one-year deal to return to the Falcons.
With McClure's departure, the Falcons will have a hole at center. According to Alex Welch of The Falcoholic, right guard Peter Konz appears like the most likely candidate to replace McClure.
