Colts to sign Matt Hasselbeck, according to report

Matt Hasselbeck wasn’t out of work long and he won’t even have to leave the AFC South, as he is expected to sign with the Colts on Tuesday.

Former Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will sign with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hasselbeck, who was released by Tennessee on Monday morning, won't be out of work long as he's expected to sign with the Colts on Tuesday. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Hasselbeck will sign a two-year deal with the Colts. He reportedly drew interest from a number of teams, including some with an uncertain quarterback situation, but will instead head to Indianapolis to back up Andrew Luck.

The 37-year-old Hasselbeck spent the last two seasons with the Titans. He started five games last season, serving as Jake Locker's backup. The Colts will be the fourth stop of Hasselbeck's career, which started with the Green Bay Packers. After a trade from Green Bay, Hasselbeck spent 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

The terms of the deal are still unknown, but Hasselbeck was scheduled to earn $5.5 million with Tennessee next season. When Hasselbeck will arrive in Indianapolis also remains to be seen, as he is currently out of the country on a family vacation.
