Chicago Bears tight end Evan Rodriguez was arrested on charges of resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication early Thursday morning in Miami, Fla., according to a report from CBS Miami. Rodriguez was involved in a car accident and became non-compliant with the responding officers. The police report indicates the tight end cursed at the officers and "interfered with the roadside exercises of the driver," Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Rodriguez was arrested by the Miami Beach Police Department and booked a little after 5:30 a.m. ET Thursday. For the two charges, he is facing a $1,500 bond. Jensen adds that Rodriguez would have been released as soon as his report to the officers was processed had he complied. Instead, he told police that he is “hardheaded like that and I don’t have to listen.”
Drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Temple, Rodriguez caught four passes for 21 yards in 12 games played during his rookie season in Chicago.
This incident is, unfortunately, not Rodriguez’s first brush with the law. After redshirting his freshman year at West Virginia, Rodriguez transferred to Temple after being accused of felony assault -- later turning into misdemeanor disturbance and trespassing charges -- in 2007.
Then in 2009 he was arrested for disorderly conduct. Temple also once benched him for a game for the violation of a team rule.
