Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson missed the final three games of the 2012 regular season after being sidelined with a grade 2 MCL sprain, but he fully expects to join his teammates on the practice field for offseason conditioning in a few weeks.
Fred Jackson injury: Bills RB will be ready for offseason workouts
Jackson said Wednesday that he is “on track” to participate in offseason training after a knee injury ended his 2012 campaign early.

Jackson joined The John Murphy Show (via the team’s Inside The Bills blog) on Wednesday mainly to talk about the NFL’s new policy against running backs delivering helmet-to-helmet blows to defenders, but also said this about his current health status:
“I’m on track ready to go. I’m trying to hit the ground running and do as much as I can. I’ve been cleared by all the doctors so I’m ready to get back into it, and get back on the field and prove to these coaches that I need to be on the field.”
2012 was the second straight season in which Jackson appeared in 10 games for the Bills. The versatile back, now more-evenly sharing the load with C.J. Spiller in the backfield, rushed 115 times for 437 yards and three touchdowns last season, also catching 34 passes for 217 yards and a score.
