Ziggy Ansah will attend the NFL Draft in April -- even if it means missing out on receiving his diploma in person. Ansah decided to attend the draft instead of his graduation, according to USA Today.

In SB Nation’s latest mock draft, the Giants are projected to select the BYU product with the No. 19 overall pick. Ansah isn’t a finished product, and didn’t put up great numbers at BYU last season, recording just 35 tackles and 4.5 sacks, but at 6’5, 271 pounds, Ansah projects to be an impact player in the NFL -- if he can reach his potential.

BYU’s 2013 commencement is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Apr. 25 -- the same night as the first round of the NFL Draft. Ansah, however, decided to soak in the NFL rookie experience -- which includes walking up to the podium with his new team’s jersey and hat, and shaking hands with commissioner Roger Goodell in New York City.

That certainly sounds better than sitting through commencement, doesn’t it?
