Brian Cushing injury update: Texans LB expected to miss OTAs
Brian Cushing is still recovering from a knee injury. How might it impact his future with the Texans?

Cushing is the big name here for the Texans. He is still recovering from a knee injury suffered last fall against the New York Jets, and head coach Gary Kubiak expects him to be back by preseason training camp. Cushing will be entering the fourth of a five-year deal in 2013, and his performance this season will play a big part in potential extension negotiations next year.
Missing 11 games in 2012 and another four in 2010 can’t be encouraging for Cushing or the team. If his injury problems continue into this year, Cushing may find it difficult to land another long-term deal once his current contract expires.
If he can come back as strong as ever and back to his dominant self, he is still just 26 years old and another multi-year extension with the Texans is a strong possibility. Cushing certainly wouldn't want to disappoint new teammate Ed Reed, who is excited to play behind the linebacker.
