Cowboys will release Gerald Sensabaugh, according to report

Dallas are expected to continue their busy offseason.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to release safety Gerald Sensabaugh, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Sensabaugh was scheduled to make $3 million in 2013 and count as $3.8 million against the cap.

Sensabaugh appeared in all but two games for the Cowboys in his four-year stint with the franchise. He came to Dallas after spending his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has logged 411 tackles and 14 receptions in 112 career appearances.

The expected release comes after Sensabaugh posted 58 tackles and no interceptions in 2012, both lows for his time with the Cowboys. He had signed a six-year, $25 million deal in 2011, and wasn’t expected to become a free agent until 2017.
