Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer wants to return to the team in 2013, but he's not sure that's going to happen just yet, according to Paul Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area.

Palmer said in an email he would “love” to be a Raider next season:
In an email exchange, Palmer said he had not heard anything regarding his future.
“Not sure what’s going to happen,” Palmer wrote. “Would love to be back in Oakland and compete.”
Late last month, word broke that the team wanted to restructure Palmer’s contract. There has been no news since then, but it would make a lot of sense for Oakland.
As of now, Palmer will be a $15.3 million cap hit in 2013, the seventh-highest cap hit for a QB in the NFL. In 2014, Palmer’s number jumps to $17.3 million.
Silver and Black Pride wonders why the team hasn’t talked with Palmer about his future, considering free agency and the draft are coming up quickly:
First, it is rather concerning that Palmer has not heard anything about his future in Oakland. What are the Raiders waiting for? With free agency just around the corner, why would the Raiders not have even begun conversations with Palmer’s camp? Negotiating a new contract with Palmer could take a while, so it is surprising to me that the Raiders have not yet even opened up a dialogue.
A restructure of Palmer's contract -- or dumping him completely -- would help the Raiders' salary cap problem. The team is about $2 million under the cap after linebacker Mike Brisiel restructured his contract.
Palmer, 33, put up decent numbers for the Raiders last season despite the team going just 4-11 in his 15 starts. Palmer completed 61 percent of his passes for 4,018 yards and 22 touchdowns. He threw 14 interceptions and was sacked 26 times.
