2013 NFL team needs: Is the AFC East ready for competition?

Like most new head coaches, their first move is to identity and acquire the team’s next quarterback.

Tannehill made his rookie mistakes but showed some signs of development. He revealed flashes of strong quarterback play in spurts, managing seven wins in his rookie campaign. He also did all of this with a supbar surrounding cast.

However, the Pats could stand to upgrade a couple positions on defense as well as their wide receivers for the upcoming season. If they play their cards right, they could be close to unstoppable in the upcoming season.

Over at Gang Green Nation, they listed the top priorities this offseason as locking up Darrelle Revis, finding an offensive coordinator, and shedding bad contracts.

The Jets aren’t in a good situation when it comes to the salary cap heading into the 2013 season. The Jets are predicted to be close to $20 million over the $121 million cap set by the NFL and they’ll need to make some cuts to get under that mark. That will likely mean they’ll have to let a good player or two go and it also means they may have trouble signing a free agent, especially a free-agent quarterback, let alone compete with some of the teams in good shape for talented players.

When it comes to the team’s needs, Brian Galliford of SB Nation’s Bills community, Buffalo Ramblings, doesn’t hold back — aiming squarely at the passing game and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick:

There’s plenty of possibilities as far as the Bills’ biggest need this coming offseason, but most pressing for a team that ended up giving up the most rushing touchdowns of any team in the league last season will be getting a linebacker capable of stopping the short rush from turning into a gashing, longer one.
