The Titans have interest in re-signing defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks, but he is likely to hit the open market, according to a report.

According to the report, the Titans and Marks are not close to a deal less than a week before the start of free agency. Wyatt expects Marks to be a “hot commodity” on the free agent market. The 26-year-old defensive tackle started 14 games last season, setting career-highs in tackles with 41 and sacks with 1.5.
Originally a second-round draft pick out of Auburn, Marks did not fare well last season, according Pro Football Focus’ grading system. Pro Football Focus graded Marks negatively in 10 of the 14 games in which he played. He amassed a minus-7.7 grade for the season, the 73rd-lowest grade for a defense tackle.
Not everyone saw Marks’ 2012 season the same, as Michael A. Lombardo of Music City Miracles said Marks had a solid season and is an “important player to keep on this team.” If the Titans are going to do just that, it appears they may have to compete for his services on the open market.
