LeSean McCoy says Chip Kelly’s offense ‘looks amazing’

Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy adds to the group of Eagles heaping praise on the offensive system of new head coach Chip Kelly.

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy praised the new offensive system head coach Chip Kelly has been installing this offseason, saying "the offense looks amazing." McCoy was appreciative of how much work the running backs got in Kelly's offenses at Oregon and said, "I feel like the offense fits the players very well."

McCoy thinks Kelly's offense uses the running backs so much that there will be plenty of room for both him and second-year back Bryce Brown to be featured. "You’re going to need another back in this offense. This is an offense where it’s not a debate, ‘Oh, I can do it myself,’" McCoy said.

Due to the quick pace of the offense, which is constantly moving, McCoy said there may even be room for the runners behind him and Brown on the depth chart. "And don’t be surprised if Chris Polk gets some carries, because you’re running so much it’s like a freakin’ track meet. It’s like a relay. You need extra guys," McCoy said.

McCoy is coming off a 2012 season in which he missed four games due to a concussion and was limited to just 840 yards rushing on 200 carries. He also added 54 receptions for 373 yards in Andy Reid’s pass-happy West Coast offense. His backup, Brown, carried the ball 115 times for 564 yards. If Kelly’s offense is as effective as McCoy believes it will be, both backs could see an increase in production in 2013.
