NFL Draft Results 2013: Falcons select Sean Renfree in 7th round

The seventh and final round of the 2013 NFL Draft is nearing an end. Here are some of the last players to come off the board.

The 2013 NFL Draft is finally coming to an end after a long weekend in New York City. The players selected now will fight for roster spots but likely struggle to make it on the field. All of the picks at this point are compensatory.

Here’s a look at pick 248 through 253:

248. Tennessee Titans: Daimion Stafford, S, Nebraska, 6'0, 221 pounds

Stafford is an aggressive safety who has been known to overrun plays at times. He also needs to get better at playing the ball in the air, but he’s talented and adds depth to the Titans’ secondary. He could fight for a special teams spot.

249. Atlanta Falcons: Sean Renfree, QB, Duke, 6'3, 219 pounds

Renfree will fight for a backup position behind Matt Ryan or possibly for a spot on the Falcons’ practice squad. Ryan isn’t going to be replaced any time soon. Renfree does have good size and arm strength, though, and can make most of the throws.

250. Miami Dolphins: Don Jones, S, Arkansas State, 5'11, 191 pounds

Jones ran a 4.42 40 at the school’s pro day and should add depth in the Dolphins’ defensive backfield. Like most seventh-round picks, he’ll likely compete for a special-teams or practice-squad position.

251. Cincinnati Bengals: T.J. Johnson, C, South Carolina, 6'4, 310 pounds

The Bengals have Kyle Cook and Trevor Robinson who will likely compete for the starting center position in 2013. Johnson could add some solid depth at the position, or possibly at guard, if he makes the team.

252. San Francisco 49ers: Marcus Cooper, CB, Rutgers, 6'2, 192 pounds

Cooper ran a 4.45 40 at Rutgers’ pro day. Like Jones in Miami, Cooper will likely compete for a backup position and for a special-teams or practice-squad spot.

253. New York Giants: Michael Cox, RB, UMass, 6'0, 222 pounds

Cox ran the 40 in 4.63 seconds at his pro day. He’ll compete for a backup running back position on the Giants.
