Just two days after the conclusion of the 2013 NFL Draft, new Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell made some expected changes in the team's front office, parting ways with three of the team's top scouts. Director of player personnel Terry McDonough, director of pro personnel Louis Clark and southwest regional scout Chris Prescott were all dismissed on Monday, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Three of the team’s top scouts were let go on Monday as Dave Caldwell began the process of creating his own front office.

Caldwell replaced Gene Smith after the former-Jaguars GM was fired one day after the conclusion of the 2012 regular season, in which the team finished with a 2-14 record. Caldwell immediately relieved Mike Mularkey of his head coaching duties and allowed the team to rebuild its coaching staff with Gus Bradley at the helm, but did not make changes with the scouting staff until after the 2013 NFL Draft.
It’s typical for changes in front office personnel to happen after the draft because that’s when scouts become available for hire, so Caldwell can now begin the process of building his own staff.
Of the three, Clark had the longest tenure with the Jaguars, originally joining the team as a college scout in 1997. Prescott joined the team in 2002, while McDonough was hired by the Jaguars from the Baltimore Ravens in 2003.
On Sunday, the Jaguars received a B grade from SB Nation's Peter Berkes for their selections in the 2013 NFL Draft, after the team took Texas A&M's Luke Joeckel in the first round and several defensive backs thereafter.
