Earlier today, the Chiefs and Cardinals reportedly worked out a deal involving fullback Anthony Sherman heading to Kansas City. The terms of the deal were previously unknown, but now the Chiefs have announced they've traded cornerback Javier Arenas to the Cardinals in return for Sherman.
Chiefs trade Javier Arenas to Cardinals for Anthony Sherman
The Chiefs trade former second round pick Javier Arenas to the Cardinals in return for fullback Anthony Sherman.

Arenas has been shoved down the depth chart this offseason by the Chiefs' new regime of general manager John Dorsey and Andy Reid with moves that brought free agent cornerbacks Sean Smith and Dunta Robinson to Kansas City. Arenas was a former second round pick acquired in the Chiefs trade with the Atlanta Falcons for Tony Gonzalez.
Arenas brings depth as a slot corner to the Cardinals’ secondary as well as options in the return game. Arenas has extensive experience as a kick and punt returner, although he has yet to make good on the promise of his draft slot in any single area. Still it’s a worthy gamble for the Cardinals since Sherman would have no spot in new head coach Bruce Arians’ offense anyway.
Arenas played in 47 games with the Chiefs with career totals of 149 tackles and two interceptions in three seasons with the Chiefs.
