Former-Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones is looking to stay in the NFC East for at least one more season, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday morning that he has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jones, 26, was a first-round selection for the Cowboys but never blossomed into the full-time back the team envisioned for the collegiate All-American. While a torn ACL ended his rookie season prematurely in 2008, he still played well in 2009 and 2010 behind Marion Barber.
When Barber left the team, Jones was expected to finally grab a stranglehold on the starting spot in Dallas, but an ankle injury opened the door for DeMarco Murray to take over. In 64 career games with the Cowboys, Jones started 23 and accumulated 2,728 yards rushing with 11 touchdowns, along with 1,066 receiving yards with three touchdown receptions.
With the Eagles, Jones will play behind All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy and join a crowded field of running backs competing for snaps. His toughest competition will be Bryce Brown, a seventh-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, who averaged 4.9 yards per carry in his rookie season. Other players that will compete to make the team at running back include Chris Polk and Miguel Maysonet.
Philadelphia likely wasn't the only option for Jones, as the Cincinnati Bengals brought him in for a workout in April and the New England Patriots worked him out last week.
