Knowshon Moreno and Joe Mays are each still recuperating from past injuries, and neither were able to fully participate in the Denver Broncos’ first set of organized team activities Monday.
Knowshon Moreno, Joe Mays sit out Broncos OTAs
Knowshon Moreno and Joe Mays didn’t participate in team drills at the start of Broncos offseason workouts, as both are dealing with injuries suffered in past years.

Per Lindsay Jones of USA Today Sports:
Joe Mays (ankle) and Knowshon Moreno (knee) not cleared for team drills yet. But in uniform for individual drills. #Broncos

It doesn’t seem as if this is anything too worrisome. Both guys are recovering from injuries suffered a while ago -- for Moreno, minor arthroscopic knee surgery came after the season, just to help a nagging issue stemming from a 2011 ACL tear, for Mays, this is the leg injury that ended his 2012 season -- and both seem to just be awaiting full clearance with no use in getting reinjured four months ahead of the start of the season. If both are participating in individual drills, the worry appears to be contact rather than ability to move.
Moreno is once again expected to take a large portion of carries as a backup behind Willis McGahee and Montee Ball, while Mays is expected to reclaim his starting spot at the middle linebacker position next to Von Miller in John Fox’s 4-3 defense. With McGahee also not at camp, Ball can get into a rhythm with the first-team offense and perhaps contend for a starters’ carries in his first NFL season.
