Three years after the Cleveland Browns and Jim Brown parted ways, new team owner Jimmy Haslam has mended the relationship between the Browns and the team's all-time best player, as Brown will re-join the team with a new position that will be announced at a press conference on Wednesday, according to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland.

Brown, 77, was an executive adviser to the team’s former owner, Randy Lerner, until May 2010, when he was offered a lower position by former President Mike Holmgren with a significantly lower salary. Brown felt disrespected and made his feelings known, even boycotting his induction into the team’s first Ring of Honor class.
With a new owner and president in charge of the team, the relationship was repaired and Brown will re-join the team’s front office, where he’ll look to make an impact for a young team looking to be relevant again.
“I’m stuck with being No. 32 of the Cleveland Browns,” Brown said at a Browns alumni golf outing in September. “Can’t do anything about it. Don’t want to do anything about it.
“You don’t have to like my politics. The fact is we are married because of that history. And if I can be a part of the development of a new, winning attitude ... man, that would be fantastic.”
Brown played just nine seasons in the NFL, but was elected to the Pro Bowl in each season and earned a spot as a first-team All-Pro eight times. He led the league in rushing in eight seasons, accumulating 12,312 yards, the most in NFL history at the time, but ninth all-time now.
