The active leader in sacks all-time, John Abraham, is having trouble finding a job, and it may have to do with the fact that he wants too much. Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post reports that Abraham scared away the Broncos with his high-priced demands and his expectations of playing time, despite turning 35 earlier in May.

Abraham has accumulated 122 sacks during his 13-year career and managed to tally a double-digit total for the seventh time in 2012, but without many years left, it’s tough for any team to make promises or much of an investment in a player that should logically drop-off in production soon.
The Broncos aren't the only team either, as he has visited the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans since his departure from the Atlanta Falcons, and left each visit without a contract. Legwold reports the Broncos were looking for a one-year deal with a third down pass-rushing specialist and instead found a fit with Shaun Phillips.
Legwold gave some insight on the contract expectations of Abraham that are lofty, by any measure:
Abraham has said publicly, during an appearance on a nationally-syndicated radio show, he wanted $12 million per year on a multi-year deal and that even if he was playing “terrible” he would want a $5 million per year deal.
A first-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, Abraham has been selected to four Pro Bowls during his career and is tied with Simeon Rice for No. 13 on the all-time sacks leaderboard.
