As the Buffalo Bills go through their organized team activities, quarterbacks Kevin Kolb and Tarvaris Jackson are getting a majority of the snaps ahead of rookie E.J. Manuel, according to a report from Chris Brown on the team's website on Wednesday.

Bills head coach Doug Marrone said in the report that a good portion of the team’s offensive system has been introduced. Brown writes that Wednesday’s entire practice saw Kolb and Jackson splitting the repetitions at quarterback as they try to get acclimated to the new scheme. In fact, Manuel isn’t even mentioned in the report.

Kolb started the first series of Wednesday’s practice, but the two alternated from there on out, making the quarterback situation seem about as open as possible in Buffalo. That is without factoring in Manuel, the Bills’ first-round pick (No. 16) in the 2013 NFL Draft, and whatever he can eventually bring to the table.
In the report, Kolb said he’s worried about learning the offense right now, not a quarterback competition:
“Me personally I’m not even concerned with it. I haven’t even thought about it really and that’s the honest truth because I have so much to address personally as a player coming into a new system. I approach the competition like I’m competing against the playbook, I’m competing against that defense, I’m not competing against the other guys in the red jersey.”
The race for the starting signal-caller job in Buffalo appears to be between Jackson and Kolb for now. NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal writes that, as far as Manuel is concerned, the Bills seem more focused on honing the basics of the position this offseason.
