Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon doesn't think offseason shoulder surgery will have any lingering effects on his play heading into the 2013 season, according to a report from Mark Maske of The Washington Post on Thursday. But while his injured foot is improving, recovery remains "a process."

Garcon isn't working out in Washington's organized team activities, though head coach Mike Shanahan said in the report he expects the wideout to be ready for training camp in July. The shoulder surgery came as a result of an injury suffered in the team's playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

In the report, Garcon doesn’t sound worried about the “minor” procedure at all:
“The shoulder is good. There shouldn’t be any worries for me for the season coming up. So it should be good to go.”
Regarding the torn ligament in his foot, however, Garcon is trying to avoid surgery through continuous rehabilitation. Though he believes the foot is progressing and should be ready for the season, Garcon seems to know that the ailment that hampered him throughout the 2012 season could potentially cause more problems in the future:
“You never know. We could be playing on a bad field and something happens. Or we could be playing on a good field and something happens. I can’t predict what’s going to happen or how it’s going to be. But I’m going to continue to rehab it and continue to work at it and continue to monitor it.”
Garcon played in ten regular-season games in his first season with the Redskins, catching 44 passes for 633 yards and four touchdowns. He caught four passes for 50 yards in Washington’s postseason loss to Seattle.
