New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is looking for a new contract before the season begins, but the two sides aren't moving very quickly to get one done. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the negotiations are going "incredibly slow" and Cruz doesn't plan on attending minicamp without a new contract.
Giants rumors: Victor Cruz negotiations are ‘incredibly slow’
The Giants wide receiver reportedly plans to skip minicamp without a new contract.

Cruz, 26, entered the 2012 season in a contract year and made a Pro Bowl in his first year as a full-time starter for the Giants. While he finished with fewer receiving yards than he did in his breakout 2011 season, Cruz’s value only increased in 2012 and the Giants had to give him a first-round tender to avoid losing him in free agency.
With wide receiver Hakeem Nicks also looking for a new contract before hitting free agency in 2014, the Giants may have decisions to make regarding the receiver corps. According to the latest numbers from the NFL Players Association, the Giants have roughly $3.3 million of cap space, one of the smallest amounts in the NFL.
Cruz started in all 16 games in 2012 and accumulated 86 receptions for 1,092 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the Giants in all three categories. In March, Cruz was given a one-year, $2.879 million tender before unrestricted free agency, although he has not yet signed the contract.
The Giants are scheduled to open minicamp on Tuesday.
