Stephen Hill injury: Jets WR expected to practice on Tuesday

Hill skipped practice last week after swelling in his knee.

New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill will participate in the first day of the team's three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday after he missed some time last week due to swelling in his surgically-repaired knee, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Hill, 22, was a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and caught 21 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season for the Jets. He finished the season on injured reserve, though, after suffering an LCL sprain in his knee during a Monday Night Football game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.

In Week 1 of the 2012 season, Hill tallied five receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills, but he struggled to do much more in the remainder of the season as he battled through injuries and the team had inadequate play at quarterback. Hill's three touchdowns finished in a tie for the most by a Jets receiver in 2012.

Hill caught just 49 passes during his three-year career with the run-heavy Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but he finished with an average of 25.5 yards per catch.
