Tim Tebow made his first statement to the media on Tuesday after the New England Patriots signed the popular and polarizing quarterback earlier this week.
Tim Tebow ‘honored’ to be with New England Patriots
The Patriots’ latest addition made a short statement to the media on Tuesday.

As expected, Tebow kept his statement brief and made respectful overtures to the Patriots coaching staff, leadership and organization. From WEEI:
”First and foremost, I just want to thank the Patriots for giving me an opportunity. I’m very thankful. It’s such an honor to be a Patriot and play for coach [Bill] Belichick and coach [Josh] McDaniels, and learn under Tom [Brady] and be a part of this great franchise and very successful franchise. I found out first hand; lost to them several times.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better and learning under some great people. That’s all I got. Thank you all so much and God bless. I’m sure we’ll be talking more soon.”
Head coach Bill Belichick was even less forthcoming in his own media session from the team’s minicamp. He admitted Tebow was a talented player, but deflected most questions when asked about specifics.
Tebow signed a two-year contract with the Patriots but there is no guaranteed money involved in the deal. He was released earlier this offseason by the New York Jets.
