The Arizona Cardinals brought in fresh leadership this offseason at multiple levels, from new head coach Bruce Arians to a new starting quarterback in Carson Palmer. Despite his short tenure with the team, Palmer is not afraid to speak his mind. On Friday, the quarterback said that the Cardinals should be focused on work and not play in the upcoming time off before training camp.
Carson Palmer says Arizona Cardinals players shouldn’t take time off
The Cardinals’ new quarterback is emphasizing a strong work ethic this offseason in an effort to further the team’s ability to contend.

“I’m not going to get away from anything,” said Palmer to the team’s web site. “I won’t be taking any time off and I don’t think guys will be, or should be, taking time off.”
Palmer faces a tall order in the strong NFC West division. The San Francisco 49ers went to the Super Bowl last year and are loaded again for another run. The Seattle Seahawks were already dangerous and they’ve added Percy Harvin among others this offseason. The St. Louis Rams are also young and a darkhorse for the playoffs in Jeff Fisher’s second season. For the Cardinals to impress, they’ll have to put in the work this offseason.
Palmer came over from the Oakland Raiders earlier this offseason along with Drew Stanton as Arians tries to remake the quarterback position. Palmer threw 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions for the Raiders last season
