Aaron Hernandez found himself oddly involved in a murder investigation Tuesday when police searched his property. There was no indication that the New England Patriots' tight end was a suspect, but a report surfacing Wednesday probably didn't do him any favors.

Aaron Hernandez was reportedly sued for shooting a man in February, the Jaguars are getting swimming pools and Hakeem Nicks is apologizing for not attending optional workouts.

Hernandez was reportedly sued earlier this month for allegedly shooting a man in the face during a February altercation outside of a strip club, according to TMZ. The man’s legal team dismissed the case shortly thereafter because there was an error in the paperwork, but TMZ reported that the charges were expected to be re-filed Wednesday.
Whether or not there’s any basis to the claims in this case, it doesn’t bode well for Hernandez to have anything else creeping up from his past. Police also planned to execute a search of a car Hernandez rented out.
The Jaguars have been a part of many relocation rumors due to their lackluster crowd support, but that hasn't stopped ownership from making plans for an exciting new fan experience.
Everbank Field will undergo $63 million in renovations that will include the world’s largest scoreboards and, although the swimming pools are being overlooked, new owner Shad Khan is very excited about the scoreboards.
“Today we’re making a statement to the NFL, the nation and the world that Jacksonville is world-class,” Khan said. “Your big screen TV is great, but this will be better. It will be impossible to stay home and watch the Jaguars.”
Telling fans to pay more money to watch on bigger screens at the stadium seems to be missing the selling point of being able to hang out in a pool when Jaguars games are going on ... but I digress.
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has apologized to the team -- specifically head coach Tom Coughlin -- for skipping out on last week's OTAs after previously agreeing to attend them.
“I told him I would be there, but some things just took place and I had to take care of what I had to take care of,” Nicks told The Post. “As soon as I got back, we sat down and talked and got things squared away. I apologized, and everybody knew where I was coming from.”
Nicks said earlier that he had skipped the workouts due to injury concerns, not because he’s worried about his contract. That quote seems a little less like the reason he missed was due to simple injury concerns, but who are we to decide?
Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway underwent surgery on his left knee last week. His follow-up checkup went well, too, as Greenway's surgery has been determined a successful one by the doctors.
It would’ve been very surprising had the knee surgery -- which ended up being a scope -- sidelined Greenway for any major length of time as he’s been a beacon of health ... despite issues early in his pro career.
After missing his entire rookie season of 2006 with a torn ACL, Greenway has played every game for the Vikings, providing stability for a team that has reached the playoffs three times in his tenure, including a trip to the NFC Championship Game in 2010.
For the sake of Vikings fans, let’s hope Greenway returns fully to form.
