The Jacksonville Jaguars reached a deal with first-round selection Luke Joeckel on Saturday, with the team announcing on Twitter that the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft had agreed to a four-year contract.

Following the addition of a rookie salary cap to the collective bargaining agreement, each draft position is slated for a certain amount. That means Joeckel's contract will likely be similar to the four-year, $21.1 million contract signed by Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III in 2012.
Joeckel was an All-American during his junior season with the Texas A&M Aggies in 2012, blocking for quarterback Johnny Manziel, the eventual Heisman Trophy winner. After earning the Outland Trophy, recognizing the nation’s top offensive lineman, Joeckel chose to forgo his senior year and enter the 2013 NFL Draft. Many expected the 21-year-old to be the first player taken.
The Jaguars finished the 2012 season with 50 sacks allowed, the third-most in the NFL, as they endured a 2-14 season.
