The Detroit Lions will host three free agent wide receivers this week, as Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the team will host Laurent Robinson, Chaz Schilens and Steve Breaston for workouts at some point during the week.

Breaston, 29, has the most career receiving yardage of the three, but struggled to produce with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012, finishing the season with just seven receptions for 74 yards. He managed to accumulate at least 700 yards in each of the four seasons before, including a 1,000-yard season in 2008.
Robinson, 28, had a bad season in 2012 as well, as multiple concussions derailed his first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After tallying 858 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, the Jaguars gave Robinson a five-year, $32.5 million deal. Robinson worked out for the New York Jets on Monday.
Schilens, 27, spent four seasons with the Oakland Raiders before joining the New York Jets in 2012. While his 28 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns weren't eye-popping, it was one of the better seasons of his career, statistically.
Sean Yuille of Pride of Detroit is uncertain what the Lions are planning at wideout. “It’s unclear at this time if the Lions have plans to sign somebody from this workout or if this is merely them doing their due diligence on some free agents in case an injury happens,” he writes.
The Lions currently have 12 receivers on roster, but struggled to find production out of anyone other than Calvin Johnson in 2012. Former Lions receiver Titus Young was second in yardage among wide outs with just 383 yards on 33 receptions.
