Tebow has caught some passes in training camp, but his role is strictly at quarterback.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels made as much clear when he spoke to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe on Monday:
"He's just practicing his open-field running," McDaniels said. "Matt Cassel and (Doug) Flutie and some of those other guys I've had a chance to coach, I think we did the same types of things with them. And again we know Tim has a skill set that some of these other guys don't possess in terms of his ability to run with it, scramble with it when he has it in his hands."
After spending some time running drills that included him catching passes, some have speculated that Tebow's involvement in the Patriots offense could include a similar role to the one he had with the New York Jets. In 2012, Tebow ran a few receiving routes, but finished the season without a reception.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was signed by the Patriots to a two-year contract in June, reuniting him with McDaniels, the former head coach of the Denver Broncos during the time Tebow was with the team.
