The Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins are both dealing with some injury issues to their projected starting quarterbacks, but the plan is to have their signal-callers completely healthy when the regular season begins. Whether or not the Bills have the same starting quarterback as they've had this preseason, though, is up to Kevin Kolb.

Backup quarterbacks will be the big story when the Bills and Redskins play their third games of the preseason on Saturday afternoon.

The Bills are undefeated in the preseason, surprisingly, in part thanks to the play of their quarterbacks. Rookie EJ Manuel is out for the preseason after a knee surgery, however, opening the door for Kolb to earn himself the nod as the regular-season starter -- healthy or not. Kolb will need to be solid in the next two preseason games to wrestle the job from Manuel after being outperformed in the first two games by the rookie.
The Redskins have similar quarterback concerns of their own, but their injured starter isn't in danger of losing his job -- as long as Robert Griffin III is healthy, he'll start. The backup situation is a bit murky, though, because Kirk Cousins is dealing with a sprained foot. That will likely open the door for either Rex Grossman or Pat White to cement themselves a spot on the roster in the final two preseason games of the season.
