Chris Long injury: Rams DE will play vs. Falcons, per report

The Rams’ defensive end will play after being listed as questionable with a hip injury.

St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long will play on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons after all, reports Adam Schefter.

The veteran defensive end and No. 2 pick in the 2008 draft was slowed with a hip injury that limited him during team activities for most of the week. Long was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game after not practicing on Friday, although it was not believed that the defensive end’s injury was serious.

Long has played in 81 consecutive games since being drafted and has 24.5 sacks across the past two seasons. Long struggled at times to produce his first three seasons in the league but has become a force along the defensive line the past two years.

The Rams won a comeback victory in Week 1 over the Arizona Cardinals and now take on a desperate Falcons team, hoping to rebound from a disappointing 23-17 loss to the Saints.
