Ron Rivera safe as Panthers head coach for 2013 season, per report
Rivera is looking good to keep his job throughout the year despite a slow start in Carolina.

Rivera has been rumored to be on the hot seat for quite some time, and things got even toastier after beginning 0-2 with late losses to the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills. However, the Panthers rebounded in a big way with a 38-0 thrashing of the New York Giants.
Last season, Carolina started the year 3-9 including a loss at Arrowhead Stadium to the two-win Kansas City Chiefs and Rivera appeared to be on the way out. Then, his team rallied and won the final four games of the season, securing Rivera at least getting one more chance.
Going forward, Carolina has games against the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as it tries to get back into the NFC playoff picture.
