Terrelle Pryor injury: Raiders will evaluate QB one last time

The Raiders will evaluate Pryor one final time on Saturday to determine his playing status for Sunday’s game.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Raiders will give one more cognitive test to quarterback Terrelle Pryor to determine whether he is able to play on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, according to Jerry McDonald of Inside Bay Area.

Pryor was cleared to play on Friday under the provisions of the NFL concussion protocols, yet the Raiders are opting to err on the side of caution before declaring Pryor is fully capable of playing on Sunday. Also at issue is the limited practice time this week for the young quarterback, who was listed as questionable after receiving limited snaps in practice on Thursday and Friday.

The third-year quarterback has started all three games for the Raiders this season, throwing for 624 yards, two touchdowns and two interception while completing 65.4 percent of his passes. The multi-dimensional quarterback has also added 198 yards rushing on 26 attempts, and has proven to be a dangerous weapon for the Raiders offense.

Matt Flynn will start for the Raiders if Pryor is unable to play. Flynn has yet to see extended action in the NFL after serving as a backup in Green Bay for four seasons before heading to Seattle in 2012 and then to Oakland this past offseason.

Kickoff against the Redksins is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
