Jon Baldwin will be more involved in 49ers offense going forward

The 49ers receiver will see more action in the offense moving forward, says Jim Harbaugh.

The San Francisco 49ers could turn to Jon Baldwin a bit more extensively, with coach Jim Harbaugh stating the young wide receiver will be a bigger part of the offense moving forward.

"There'll be more action for him," Harbaugh stated Friday, per Pro Football Talk.

Baldwin is in his first season with the 49ers after spending his first two years in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs. A first-round pick in 2011, Baldwin has just 598 yards receiving and two touchdowns so far in his career. Baldwin caught two passes for 19 yards in Thursday's win over the Rams.

With the 49ers having to move further down the depth chart with rookie Quintin Patton out with a broken foot and Michael Crabtree still recovering from a torn Achilles, Baldwin could become a primary target for the quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The 49ers passing offense is just No. 28 in the NFL, putting up just 10 points total in losses to the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. The 49ers came alive a bit in Thursday's 35-11 victory, yet the offense still generated just 151 total yards through the air.
