Eagles vs. Broncos 2013 game recap: Denver stomps Philadelphia, 52-20

The Broncos left no doubt in their Week 4 matchup, burying the Eagles, 52-20, to remain undefeated. Peyton Manning broke even more records this week.

The Denver Broncos broke even more records in Week 4. They steamrolled the Philadelphia Eagles, 52-20. The Broncos' 52 points are a franchise record for most points scored in a single game. Peyton Manning has now thrown for 16 touchdowns in the first four games, breaking another NFL record.

As usual, the Broncos jumped out to a quick lead. Peyton Manning found Wes Welker in the end zone, and Trindon Holliday took a kickoff return 105 yards to the house. The Eagles could only manage a field goal in the first quarter, trailing 14-3. Philadelphia pulled back into the game with Chris Polk's first touchdown of his NFL career. The Broncos continued to dominate on offense, though, using a late second-quarter drive to pull ahead, 21-13, at halftime.

The Broncos took a bigger lead in the third quarter when Manning hooked up with Demaryius Thomas in the corner of the end zone. Manning found Thomas again to bury the Eagles, 35-14. Manning hit Welker again to take control of the game and the rout was on. Denver scored on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown, adding further insult to the rout. The Broncos called off the dogs with a 49-13 lead, bringing in Brock Osweiler to mop up a blowout win.
