Terrelle Pryor passes concussion tests, will not play vs. Redskins

Terrelle Pryor will not play on Sunday after he showed concussion symptoms late on Saturday night.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Update: Jay Glazer is reporting Pryor showed concussion symptoms on Saturday night and made the decision to sit him for Sunday’s game.

A concussion will not hold Raiders' quarterback Terrelle Pryor from taking the field in Week 4 against the Redskins. The third-year passer will play against the Washington just six days after suffering the head injury against the Broncos on Monday Night Football, according the San Francisco Chronicle. However, Pryor will not start the game, according to FOX's Jay Glazer.

Pryor's concussion proved to be minor in nature and he was cleared to play with a quick turnaround. While Glazer reports that Matt Flynn will start, Pryor's recovery gives the Raiders options in Week 4. Per Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle, head coach Dennis Allen noted that Pryor made "significant progress" during the latter part of Week 4.

Pryor has completed 53-of-81 passes for 624 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in three games this season. He has also rushed for 198 yards in just 26 attempts. His running prowess could on display regularly in packages against the Redskins, as Washington ranks among the worst teams against the run.

The Raiders will host the Redskins on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. on FOX.
