While the San Diego defense held Dallas scoreless after halftime, Rivers helped sustain long scoring drives and made it a two-score lead when he hit Antonio Gates for a 56-yard touchdown with 7:02 remaining in the game.

The Chargers trailed by eight at halftime but dominated in the second half to keep pace with the Chiefs and Broncos, while Dallas was unable to build their lead in the NFC East.


Rivers finished the game going 35-of-42 for 401 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. It was the fifth-most yards he has had in a game during his career and he completed 36 passes for 419 yards against the Eagles just two weeks ago.
