Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris left Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders with a rib injury. He was seen leaving for the locker room late in the third quarter of Sunday's game and will not return, according to Michael Fabiano of NFL Network.

The Washington Redskins top running back has left the field in the third quarter.

Morris ran the ball 16 times for 71 yards against the Raiders, which helped steady quarterback Robert Griffin III in the second half. Morris will be replaced by Roy Helu who's had limited opportunities against the stout Raiders' defensive front. Helu has ran the ball for 8 yards, gaining another 15 on a reception.
It remains to be seen how serious Morris’ injury is, but the second-year running back is vital to the Redskins offense. Even as the team has become more pass-heavy in 2013 they need a steady running back to pick up yards between tackles and important short-yardage situations.
Morris isn’t the only running back to go down with injury today as Darren McFadden left the game following the first half.
