Terrelle Pryor has doubters inside Raiders organization, per report

Terrelle Pryor might be the only one excited that he is starting for the Raiders in Week 1.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Terrelle Pryor may be the Oakland Raiders' starting quarterback, but there are a few people in the organization who aren't too excited about that, Dan Hanzus with NFL.com reported on Wednesday.

Pryor was the last draft pick Al Davis ever made, and he won the starting job practically by default as the Raiders had to replace Carson Palmer this season.

As Hanzus reported, Michael Silver said on an appearance of “NFL Total Access” that although Pryor has the backing of owner Mark Davis, not everyone is too eager to see him on the field.

NFL.com’s Michael Silver said there’s “a lot of skepticism” about Pryor starting in Oakland. According to Silver, Pryor has an ally in owner Mark Davis, who would like to see what the third-year pro can do.

The Raiders brought in Matt Flynn from the Seattle Seahawks to compete, but he was ineffective in the preseason and struggled with an elbow injury. Rookie Tyler Wilson, the Raiders fourth-round pick, was cut and eventually landed with the practice squad.

Silver went on to say that some members of the Raiders organization would like to see rookie Matt McGloin taking snaps. The Raiders signed McGloin as an undrafted rookie.

The Oakland Raiders have had their fair share of quarterback controversy in recent years, but with Pryor at the helm, it seems like Raider Nation will have to deal with the lesser of all evils until someone steps up at quarterback.
