NFL inactives, Patriots vs. Bills 2013: Gronkowski out for New England

The Patriots and Bills will both be without key players in their opening week showdown.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski will not play in the New England Patriots' opener against the Buffalo Bills Sunday, as the star is still recovering from a broken forearm. Rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson will also miss the game with a hamstring injury, as will running back Brandon Bolden, sidelined with a knee injury. Bolden ran for 274 yards and two touchdowns in 2012 on 56 carries. New England will also be without defensive backs Nate Ebner and Duron Harmon, which could leave them thin in the secondary.

The Bills will be without two starting defensive backs from last year, as Stephon Gilmore and Jairus Byrd will miss the game with injuries. Buffalo will have to find another way to deal with Tom Brady and the New England passing attack.

Patriots inactives:

  • TE Rob Gronkowski
  • WR Aaron Dobson
  • RB Brandon Bolden
  • OL Will Svitek
  • DB Nate Ebner
  • DB Duron Harmon
