Veteran New York Giants offensive lineman David Diehl is expected to announce his retirement this offseason, according to David Hutchinson of The Star-Ledger. Diehl is scheduled to be a free agent in March and was considered unlikely be re-signed by the Giants, per Hutchinson.

Diehl has spent all 11 of his years in the NFL with the Giants and has won two Super Bowls with the team. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft out of the University of Illinois. Diehl has played several different spots along the offensive line over the course of his career. This season, he started just 11 games at right guard for New York.
A Pro Bowl selection in 2009, Diehl has appeared in 164 regular-season games and 11 postseason contests. He has been a part of the most recent highs and lows of the franchise, from the two aforementioned world championships to being part of an offensive line that allowed 39 sacks this season, a career high for quarterback Eli Manning. The Giants ranked 28th in the league in total offense this season.
Diehl has worked with Sirius XM NFL Radio for several years on his off-days, so he could look to join the satellite radio network after he officially retires.
